Latest tips on keeping your teeth healthy:
Smile your way to good health by Angela Pirisi. Click to the article. With Halloween and Christmas approaching, there are always more sweets around. Remember that snacking on treats thoughout the day is more likely to cause decay than eating the same amount in one sitting. Eating a piece of cheese after sweets also helps neutralize the acidic PH of sugar. Don't forget to brush and floss daily to prevent damage from occurring.
Raisins and fruit chews may seem like healthy snacks, but they can stick to teeth and cause decay.
The most important time of day to brush and floss meticulously is at night before bed. Your body systems slow down while you sleep and this includes saliva which has a buffering ability. We recommend only having water after your evening oral hygiene routine if possible to prevent dental problems.
